9 July: How would you describe your relationship with Loki if you wanted to explain it to someone within the Lokean community?

I don’t often speak to people within the Lokean community as I have pulled away as of last year but should I return (meh), I would probably just tell them I am His Spouse and priestx.

I don’t know how much more information I’d give considering the nitty gritty details aren’t really anyone’s business (unless it’s part of the Work), but I’d tell them He is romantically involved in my life but He is also my teacher, best friend, housemate, partner in crime, ride or die, the third wheel, my inspiration, and sometimes even a parent.

Loki tends to fill whatever role He feels best and never wants to pigeonhole Himself into a single one. The detriment to any relationship with Him is to assume it’ll ever go one singular way. He is a God of many faces and talents – just as any God, really – and He tends to wear many hats in the world.

He has really been everything for me. Even the smaller shit, like teaching me how to cook or knit, providing inspiration for whatever I’m writing at the time (while also self inserting into whatever character He feels best).

One of the fascinating qualities (and best qualities in my opinion) is just how He likes to get involved in my everyday affairs and home. He will appear with me on the couch watching TV, pulling up a chair while I’m eating and sometimes asking for whatever it is as He really loves food, go for long walks, hikes, or bike rides. Essentially everything people are like “a God wouldn’t have time to do that” or probably look at me like I’ve grown three heads and silently judge me from afar, Loki has challenged and been for me.

I even have historical theories about why that is but I am just going to leave it there and right an essay some other time.
