July for Loki – Day 3

3 July: “Whenever I see ____, it makes me think of Loki. Other things that remind me of him are…”

Vultures. Specifically because it is the one omen I remember being specifically apparent to me when I was going through one of the more difficult parts of the beginning of my relationship with Himself. Vultures pick away the bacteria and the grime of the dead in order for it to better replenish the earth around it and maintain a healthy environment.

They are odd creatures. Probably one of the most unique among the raptor species. I find them to be quite amazing.

I also personally like equating foxes to Loki. I know maybe it’s pretty standard but I like thinking the red fox is the color of Loki’s hair and honestly they seem to be so predatory but are actually cuddly and the ancestors of our domesticated dogs.

Loki is very much like that, I think. Seemingly predatory on the outside but on the inside is quite cuddly, playful, and loyal. Not to mention his quick wit and even quicker actions make him very fox-like.

I have a tattoo of a water color fox jumping out of the fire with Loki’s runes in black next to it just because I found it to be the more photogenic animal I’d get a tattoo of.

I also equate him to spiders because of how meticulous he is in regards to creation. He is the creator of the net and from there I feel like webs, knots, and any other kind of meticulously put together thing is kind of his vibe. Webs are quite indestructible and are often left alone after a short time because the spider has moved on elsewhere and the web has become less sticky. That is also something I liken to Loki – builds something stable and secure, it does its job and serves its purpose, and he is free to move on to the next place. Always wandering, always creating, content, but not.
